The Process of Life

From the point of view of our story, the most important event during this era was the origin of life.

Life almost certainly began in water and probably in the oceans of the Earth.

Life is a chemical system involving two types of molecules, proteins and nucleic acids, working together in a very special way.

First we will look at these two types of molecule in turn. Next we will look at how they work together to make life. Then, when we know a little about what life is, we will think about how this beautiful chemistry might have started.
