In May 1999 British Telecom, a UK telecommunications service provider, ran an advertisement which began

"There are almost as many businesses today as there are stars in the Universe…" We contacted them and pointed out that with more than one billion stars in most galaxies, and more than one billion galaxies in the Universe, there are about 200 million stars in the Universe for every person on Earth, so their advert was grossly inaccurate.

Such misleading advertisements and news articles are common, and we want to help to correct these mistakes. If you come across a misleading advertisement or news story, please let us know by mailing falseinfo@historyoftheuniverse.com and we will publicize the errors here and try to contact the broadcasters to get the error corrected. Thank you.
