There is even a risk in breathing, since you will die during one of your breaths. (Of course, the risk of not breathing is much higher!)Yet the public can easily be frightened by being told about risk. People urgently need to be able to compare risk factors. To help solve this and similar problems, I have devised a scale for expressing the size of risk on a scale of 0 to 10. I think the resulting scale of risk might be of wide use.
