Our new free weekly podcast Time Crystal tells this story as sci-fi fantasy

Protons are heavy particles made of three quarks. A proton is 1,836 times heavier than an electron. A proton is about 2*10^-15 meters across (2 femtometers). It weighs 1.673 *10^ -27 kilograms.

Protons carry a positive electric charge. When a single proton captures an electron it makes a hydrogen atom. Therefore a proton is the same as a hydrogen nucleus.

The antiproton is an antimatter particle which has the same mass as a proton but carries a negative electric charge.
