![]() | Earth System HistoryClick for detailsSteven M. Stanley October 1998 Designed for a new generation of readers, Stanley's Earth System History is a reforging of his Exploring Earth and Life Through Time. Adopting an earth system approach throughout, Earth System History shows students how Earth's ecosystem has developed over time and how events in the past provide a perspective for dealing with present and future change. Clear and concise, this introduction to historical geology is perfect for one-term non-majors courses. |

![]() | Our Amazing Colliding Continents KitClick for detailsColliding Continents is a much more exciting toy name than "Complete Geology Starter Kit," which is what this kit really is, but Educational Design does such a quality job that it's hard to begrudge them a little hyperbole. Any rock hound in the making will find hours of things to enjoy in this box. There are two globes to paint--one of the modern globe, one of the ancient supercontinent Pangea; there's a packet of rocks to identify; and there's a world map with overlays and several flipbooks. The only thing missing from this kit is a rock hammer and a pith helmet. |
![]() | Planet Earth Science KitClick for detailsThis educational kit teaches a broad range of lessons about geology, vulcanology, gemology, and earth science in general. Scientifically inclined kids of all ages will enjoy constructing two globes, one showing the Earth as it looked 250 million years ago and another in its present incarnation. Earth science flipbook "movies" make our planet's evolution through plate tectonics come alive. With adult supervision, kids can also reenact seven historic volcanic eruptions. They can grow mineral crystals and perform observations with a 15-piece rock and mineral collection. A 128-page earth science book and giant time chart of Earth's history are richly illustrated. This kit is a nifty companion to Educational Design's Our Amazing Solar System. (Ages 10 and older) |
