This web sites includes some pages which show how the continents drifted during the past 700 million years. Each page has two snapshots of the Earth taken from opposite sides of the planet.
These pages are the slowly moving background against which the story of life unfolds. If you click down the yellow brick road you will see this background and how life was evolving upon it.

On the other hand you might want to watch a movie showing how the continents moved during the past 700 million years. To do this just click the and buttons.
In these diagrams the dark green represents the continents and the light green is the continental shelf. For the meaning of the letters on these diagrams see the key.

It is difficult to work out how the continents drifted in the past, and the further back you go the harder it gets, so the earlier images may not be too accurate.
